Meet the Team
Owner/Partner & Cooper
After many years of owning his own construction company, Joe turned his 35 years of master carpentry and finish woodworking skills toward learning and perfecting the art of barrel making. While mentoring with master cooper Rick DeFerrari at Oregon Barrel Works, learning traditional French coopering methods, Joe quickly formed a passion for barrel making. Applying that knowledge toward the development of a new cooperage in upstate New York, Joe set out to build a better barrel for the craft beverage industry. He has focused on every aspect from sourcing only the best 36-month air dried export grade American white oak to precision CNC stave jointing, blending technologically advanced charring and toasting with traditional coopering methods, down to the smallest details including embossed rivet heads. Adirondack Barrel Cooperage produces the finest high-quality barrels with unparalleled consistency.
